The Russia's first ever Winter Paralympic Games was held in Sochi between March 7 and 16, with over nine days of the competitions were 547 Paralympic athletes from 45 countries took part in them, competing for 72 sets of medals in five Paralympic sports.

The theme of the closing ceremony show was "Reaching the impossible".
Giant blocks from the video game Tetris spelled the word Impossible high above the audience, and after this an extra block appeared as an apostrophe and changed the meaning to I'm Possible. It was colorful and spectacular ceremony, that it shows that impossible becomes possible thanks to willpower, dedication and perseverance.
